Trixie is listed on Astromart right now, probably won’t sell; who wants a project scope?

I think once the dust settles from the new mount purchase, and I get my photography back underway, and get the latest round of “the shopping list” taken care of, I am going to consider rebuilding Trixie from the ground up.

My new plan includes:
– using ball-and-socket connectors at the top and bottom of the scope
– real truss poles, at least 6, probably 12
– maybe build up a “center” section where the dovetails can go
– consider aluminum structural members instead of wood
– consider “box” construction instead of “flats”
– reconsider a tertiary mirror to move the camera aft.

In short, rebuild this baby from scratch.

Joy, another balance spreadsheet…
