I needed to figure out how much the spider will weigh, so I sent an email to Protostar with questions.

I’m trying to get a rough idea of where the balance point of my OTA is going to lie. Can you give me a rough idea of how much a 15.5” spider and 3.1” secondary holder will weigh (without optics)? I understand that I’ll have to measure again when I get the spider, but I’m looking for 1#, 3#, 5# granularity so I can roughly figure out where the balance point will be. The shipping weight looks to be about 6 pounds — does that include box and packing peanuts, or is that just the metal?
