I really want to shoot some planetary shots with that big mirror. ‘m embarrassed to say that the palm tree has conspired to keep me from shooting any Jupiter yet this year. You know your astronomy
is tough when it’s wives and trees that are the problem.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the monster will fit into my photography life. It’s still not beyond a possibility that it’ll end up being a Dob if the G-11 can’t take it.
But I am as always an optimist, and I really want to see Jupiter in a 13”. And M27. Yum.
Trixie been a fun project. I keep running across scraps of paper that I constructed for the first attempt at scope building — that was Betty. Betty didn’t get too far. But I’ve been rattling around the concepts in
my head for a couple of years now. It was all just waiting for an excellent deal on optics to dump itself in my lap.
