It took some time to get the truss clamps aligned properly. I ended up clamping the 6 corners in place, while I drilled out the attachment holes.
Once the clamps were screwed into place, though, I suddenly had a complete Upper Tube Assembly on-hand!

Next up, I have to figure out how to temporarily attach the lower ring to the UTA so that I can check the focal length. I am thinking that I can clamp some straight pieces into place. I need to measure the old struts first, so I can make sure I get the measurement correct. I think that’s a job for tomorrow. It’s starting to look like I might not complete the ‘scope tomorrow, since I will have to get the lower struts cut, too. No biggie. I’m getting close.
