Finder alignment is always a little tricky the first time out.
Luckily, I can see M42 in the eyepiece. Or through the camera’s viewfinder, for that matter. I was all pleased with myself when I got the finder aligned — there were 4 possible bright stars in the finder field that could have corresponded to the bright star in the scope. I guessed right on the first try!
I really need to clean the corrector; the dew spots really bother me.
