I have a nice 66mm / 400mm ED refractor that should do the job; I picked
it up so that I could shoot “the Big Ones”. I just need to figure out
the field flattener and I should be golden there.
that’s for later; I just need to focus on getting Veronica all up and
running. There is going to be a nice long night of shooting in late
summer where I pull in the Veil, The N. America, The Heart, The Soul,
IC1396, and Andromeda all in one go. basically, I’ll keep shooting with
V through spring and summer, and then switch to the 66 for Fall. That
will give me plenty of time to get good at V, and also I’ll have plenty
of warning when I need to reinstall the Robofocus on the 66. And figure
out field flattening.
