Protostar wrote back about the spider weight, so I can continue to put data into the balance spreadsheet.
Can you give me a rough idea of how much a 15.5” spider and 3.1” secondary holder will weigh without optics)?
The actual holder weights are on the dimension page linked to the holders. A spider of that size is about 200grams (7 oz.).
I was a little confused as to what the weight was referring to on that page; thanks for clearing that up. So
I’m looking at a rough guess of just under 1# for spider and holder (0.55# = 8.8oz, so ~15.8oz total).
Great. I can throw this into a spreadsheet and start looking at how to get the balance point under control.
Looking forward to getting my new spider!
