I asked the seller of Trixie’s mirror to send the original spider for the secondary, so I could use it on my test rig.
Now that I’m looking at the object, I’m wondering what he would have done if I said I *didn’t* want the spider?
The secondary is attached very firmly to a bar of pig iron.
I wonder if he was planning to unstick the mirror from the holder somehow, or maybe he would have used a thin piece of braided stainless steel wire (Jewelry making wire) back and forth to “saw” it loose from the metal after soaking the mirror bottom with acetone if epoxied.
I wonder if it’s epoxied or siliconed to the metal?
Yikes.
