We have another new constellation here at Hilltop Observatory.
It was not our first, but it was The Junior Astronomer’s first that she named by herself.
She is a Gemini. The Sun is in Gemini, on her birthday. See Precession of the Equinoxes.
I remember when I first gave a star a nickname. Like, I know your name, of course I know you, we are old friends, good to see you again, Castor old boy, and my, look how Pollux has grown!
And The Junior Astronomer. Because… Yeah, well. She will correct you, should you slip and refer, even in jest, …
To The Gemini Twins, …
You mean, The Gemini Triplets, perhaps?
That’s Castor, and Pollux, and she.
