I have a trip coming up tomorrow, so I was thinking about resting up before it.
But then I got a crazy idea, and decided to follow through on it. I want to get a focuser for Cassie, but that’s an expensive proposition, so I needed a cheaper short-term solution. I decided to cut myself a Bahtinov focusing mask (free templates online!). That went just fine; got it all printed out on 11×17 paper, had a spare large cardboard box lying around, cut out the mask, Friday night…
clouds.
OK, fine. New moon, clouds, I get it. Saturday night, watching the moon and Venus making a pretty pair in the West just before sunset, get the kids in bed, wait for dark, go out to focus the scope…
clouds again.
Sigh.
I’ll do this when I get back from my trip.
