Ad Astra Observatory

It was clear last night, but the forest fires put up so much smoke that I couldn’t see anything in the way of stars.

I just calculated Pumpkin’s FOV and compared that to the North America Nebula, one of my long-standing nemeses. It should fit! The scope gets some crazy wide views with the big chip.

I need to figure out a field flattener, though.However, I’ve been having a problem with the focuser slipping. I had to install a rubber band to keep it in place. Maybe I’ll see if there’s some adjustment that needs doing on the focuser tension.
