Hi all,

After my last email, I decided to do a quick check, and yes, the comet is
definitely moving relative to the background stars over the course of the
30-minute shoot. So, I threw together an animation.

I couldn’t decide whether it looks better for the comet to stay in place
and the stars move, or vice versa, so I made them both. You be the judge.

Ignore the speck of dust that enters the frame from the upper left. That’s
in the camera. Mea culpa.
Also, give these two some time to load; they’re about 1Mb apiece.

Just the kind of friendly advice we give out for free here at Ad Astra
Observatory at Newark, CA.

Astronomer requires sleep.

Best,
